Today it’s time to begin covering some basics.

Most people like being separate and be “themselves” and being an “individual” is a good thing as far as I can tell. And usually you don’t want Bob to be like you because that would make you less “special’. On the other hand we like to be part of a group and that group makes us feel strong so it is important to have some people think the same or similar like we do. Problems only arrive if we begin to think all other groups have lesser rights to be what we are or that they are “bad” because they are different and that Bob indeed needs to be like us. But this is at this point neither here or there.

It is the similarities in the different groups which ties all together and is so fascinating, similarities which can appear to be as far apart as opposite but all the same they are similar if not even almost identical.

Love is a good example. As different the colors of people and races, love is and remains the same across the nations. This one is an easy one to discern.

When it comes to Religion the wars begin. But all the same, if you sit down a moment and don’t think your point of view is the only correct one (being an atheist or the opposite) and just begin to compare, things begin to be quite interesting. There exist some very good books which can help shine a light onto the big and smaller religions. For example there is this online chart which gives a nice tabulation. Two recommended books on this subject would be Religions of the World and World Religions. Both books are unbiased and this is what is important when you start digging into these fields and are looking for common denominators and differences.

Mathematics has been titled to be the language of the Universe. Already Galileo Galilei stated that “Mathematics is the language with which God has written the universe”. I’m not here to try discuss if it was god who did so or not.

The fact is that we can find the rules of mathematics within nature - or - is it rather vice versa and mathematics has been developed on the rules of nature and thus now mathematics appears to be an universal language?

Think about this and how this might apply to tarot and other esoteric practices.
