not your run-of-the-mill

Hello.
First things first, and the very first that you need to know about me and that I can assure you is the fact that I am not a mystic. I am also not paranormal. I am also not a Wicca. And I definitely do not believe in “other (higher) forces” guiding my hands when shuffling a pack of tarot.
Yes, this is an ongoing series on the subject of Tarot. But it is not confined to this and does not stop here. There will be talk about Cabbala, Astrology, Mythology next to Symbolism, Color Theory and Numerology, maybe even of dreams if the situation arises.
How do these above 2 paragraphs work in conjunction you might wonder.
They do, and very well so - but here is where the divergency begins.
I have been studying tarot for many years. Way back when Chariot of Fire came to the movie theaters - well, make that 2 or 3 years later as movies had a huge delay at the time until they hit European theaters - and computer system software still fitted onto a single floppy disk, my dad taught me my first steps in computer (Basic) coding and I used that little bit of knowledge at the time to build something that would instantly calculate numeric values of things I would write. If you’ve ever been into numerals or at least have seen the movie The Number 23, then you know how tedious it can become to constantly assign numbers to letters and having a computer program do it for you was plain great. Even before that time I had taken interest into tarot.
But next to my interest into Mysticism and Esotericism, I have great fascinations to have things making sense and being “logical”. When I was 16 I had a most interesting discussion with my father about us humans here on this planet and his attitude had been then that we are rather like a cancer, we grow and grow out of control and then die and the only thing to life is that you are born, more of an accident than anything else, and you live and then you die - but for me, well, for me this just did not make any sense! There is no logic for “all of this” (civilization, including all ramifications) just for dying.
I do not believe in superstitious “fate” and “destiny”, I believe though that you make your own future and agreements with what is and will be will shape your experience. For this I do not believe in using any fortune telling nor using tarot cards to predict the future. I see it much simpler: I believe in games and in talking with yourself through other means, such as tarot cards.
So, now that we have cleared all of that, lets get started.
